What change is teaching me about letting go & being present
Updated: Jul 9
I’ve experienced a lot of change over the last year or so. From moving back in with my parents to leaving a job I’d been at for five years and so many other things in between, change has greeted me in some pretty unexpected ways.
What I've learned the most during my season of change is that I’m in charge of the change I want to see in my life. I've also learned in order to grow and be my best self, shedding of my old ways and thought patterns had to change too.
This season has been the greatest lesson and blessing for me, and now I can say I’m in the best headspace I’ve been in, in a really long time. It's a process and a journey, and I'm trying my best to stay present and just embrace the current season I'm in. I’m taking the next month or so to take a break from goal planning and finding extra ways to spend my time to really focus on stillness. I encourage you to do the same.
Here are a few thoughts/reflections to lean into on change, being present and letting go:
Embrace the season you’re in. The good, bad, and ugly - there’s a lesson in every season we walk through.
Don’t stay in spaces past their expiration date. Know when it’s time to exit or shed the things that are no longer serving us.
Protect your energy. Surround yourself with people that build you up and encourage you along your journey.
Be open to, and have the courage to continue to change. You’re in charge of the change you want to see; trust yourself.
What type of change do you want to see in your life?
How are you embracing the present moment?
